bio

Sunflower Thieves are a strong soulful sisterhood, self-produced and self-managed, nurturing a unique sound, through ethereal vocal harmonies and storytelling lyrics. Rooted in authenticity, childhood friends, Amy and Lily, have grown the project organically with a DIY work ethic; from performances at open-mic nights and BBC Introducing Sessions, to having been included in Glastonbury’s Emerging Talent longlist for 2020.

In 2021, Sunflower Thieves music was used on the BBC Drama ‘The Syndicate’ and they opened for Flyte on their UK tour, before releasing the much anticipated debut EP, ‘Someone To Be There For’, which was released in April 2022, and met with huge support from BBC Radio 1’s Sian Eleri, 6Music’s Steve Lamacq, revered tastemaker, Tom Robinson, Radio Scotland’s Ricky Ross and Roddy Hart, and BBC Introducing’s Emily Pilbeam.

In April 2022, the duo supported Lewis Watson on the entirety of his UK tour as well as opening for Memorial, Get Cape.Wear Cape.Fly and Siv Jakobsen on some of their UK dates.

The Leeds-based duo continue creating their own brand of warm and dreamy Alt/Indie tracks with the release of their Christmas single 'It's Not Like The Christmas Films' in December 2023 and are set to release more music this spring/summer!
